Privacy Policy
What information TheJusGrow collects, why, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.
Before publishing
This policy has been written to match how the site is built, but it is not legal advice. The site owner must complete the bracketed details, confirm which services are switched on, and have it reviewed for the jurisdictions that matter. Delete this box before publishing.
Effective date: [date of publication]
This policy explains how TheJusGrow (“we”, “us”) handles personal information when you visit thejusgrow.com, subscribe to our newsletter or contact us.
Who we are
TheJusGrow is an independent publication operated by [operator’s full legal name or business name], [postal address]. For privacy questions, contact us via our contact page or at [privacy contact email]. For the purposes of data-protection law, we are the “controller” of the personal information described here, except where a service provider acts as an independent controller (explained below).
The short version
- You can read TheJusGrow without creating an account or telling us who you are.
- We collect limited technical information to run and secure the site and to understand, in aggregate, which articles are useful.
- If you subscribe or contact us, we use your email address and message only for that purpose.
- If advertising is enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies to serve and measure ads. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent first.
- We don’t sell your personal information for money.
Information we collect
When you read the site
- Server and security logs. Like almost every website, our hosting provider and security tools record technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and time of request. This is used to deliver the site, prevent abuse and fix problems, and is kept for a limited period.
- Analytics. We use [Google Analytics 4 / Jetpack Stats — keep only what is enabled] to understand how many people read which articles, how they found us, and what devices they use. We use this information in aggregate. Where required, analytics cookies are only set after you consent.
- Advertising. If ads are shown, Google AdSense and its partners may collect information such as your IP address, device identifiers and browsing activity on this and other sites, using cookies or similar technologies, to serve, personalise and measure ads. See “Advertising” below.
When you subscribe to the newsletter
We collect your email address and, if you choose, your name. The newsletter is delivered by [newsletter provider, e.g. Jetpack/WordPress.com Newsletter or another email service], which processes your address on our behalf. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
When you contact us
We collect what you send: typically your name, email address and message. Form submissions are stored in our website system and delivered to our email inbox. We use them only to respond and, for corrections, to improve the article.
Comments
Comments are currently switched off. If we enable them in future, we’ll update this policy first.
Why we use your information (legal bases)
Where laws such as the EU and UK GDPR apply, we rely on:
- Legitimate interests — to run, secure and improve the site, and to answer messages;
- Consent — for non-essential cookies, analytics and personalised advertising where consent is required, and for the newsletter; you can withdraw consent at any time;
- Legal obligations — where we must keep or disclose information by law.
Advertising
We may use Google AdSense to show ads. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and manage ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com.
For visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, we use a consent management platform certified by Google to ask for your choices before personalised ads or related cookies are used. You can change your choices at any time via the privacy settings link in the site footer [add this link when the consent platform is live].
Some US states give you the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising. Where advertising cookies are used, you can opt out through the consent tools on this site and through Google’s ad settings. We honour Global Privacy Control signals where required by law.
Who we share information with
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the site, such as:
- our web hosting provider [name];
- WordPress and Jetpack services provided by Automattic, if enabled (for example security, statistics, newsletter and forms);
- Google (analytics and advertising, if enabled);
- our email provider.
These providers may be located outside your country, including in the United States and India. Where the law requires, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and users’ safety.
How long we keep information
- Contact messages: up to [24 months], then deleted unless needed for an ongoing matter.
- Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe, plus a short period to honour the unsubscribe.
- Analytics data: according to the retention setting in our analytics tool [e.g. 14 months].
- Server logs: according to our host’s standard retention.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain uses, and to withdraw consent. Residents of the EEA and UK may also complain to their data-protection authority; residents of India have rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023; residents of some US states have rights under state privacy laws.
To exercise any right, contact us via our contact page. We’ll respond within the time required by law and may need to verify your identity.
Children
TheJusGrow is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the higher age required in your country). If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we’ll delete it.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect information, including HTTPS encryption, access controls and security monitoring. No website is completely secure, so please don’t send sensitive information such as passwords or payment details through our contact form.
Changes
We’ll update this policy when our practices change, and we’ll change the effective date above. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
